Shehla Chatoor’s Luxury Pret 2021/22 collection ‘Amour Éternel’ is at the top of many wish lists. The collection offers brides, grooms a mesmerizingly unforgettable couture experience driven by romance, redefined luxury and pure elegance. The uber-feminine collection is imbued with a free-spirited, joyful and ebullient vibe.
The outfits in the collection are inspired by designers’ fond personal reminisces of her myriad jaunts across the daisy-filled fields of Europe, replete with sunshine, girls bedecked with florets in their hair; leisurely picnics and traipsing lambs.
Shehla showcases a generous use of playful floral applique work. The innovative textural embellishments transposed onto luxurious fabrics includes French tulle, organza, translucent organdy and cotton net in a soft swirl of dreamy hues. She uses buttercup yellow, ice blue, classic, pearl-ivory, soft beige and salmon pink to give it a romantic feel.
Here’s what we liked the most
One of the standout outfits of the collection is “Camille” a classic floral pleated gharara with hand-painted motifs. It is artfully paired with fabric manipulated embroidered qameez. The dreamy long dupatta gives the outfit an ethereal quality, perfect for an intimate daytime wedding. Just as striking is the jewelry and accessories, they are certainly classy and stand-out option for adventurous brides.
Full Marks to Groom wear
The men’s clothing is very well-cut, weaving magic with a fusion of rich fabric with sophisticated embroideries to make grooms shine at their destination or daylight wedding. Even the shoes blend well with the clothes, a realm often ignored by designers.
The Minor Hitch
If there is one drawback to the collection, it’s the fact that it’s a capsule collection of seven or eight pieces. Especially when the collection is so dreamy, we don’t want to bump into a wedding wearing the same outfit. After all, people who can afford a designer budget will surely want a “Amour Éternel” dress for their big day.
Final Word
All said and done, Shehla Chatoor once again proves herself as a bridal designer powerhouse. She can be counted on to diligently create complete looks and deliver. For those more familiar with Shehla’s striking western and fusion wear, “Amour Éternel” maybe something of a surprise. In fact, this collection personifies Shehla’s luxe pret aesthetic, it’s subtle, feminine and exquisite.
