The Met Gala on the first Monday of May is the perfect opportunity for fashion-conscious celebs to prove their mettle. Described as the Super Bowl or the Oscars of fashion, the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual fundraiser for its Costume Institute and plays host to the world’s most famous people wearing the highest of high-end clothes. The annual event this year honors the exhibition “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.” The evening will raise funds for The Met’s Costume Institute while paying tribute to the late designer Karl Lagerfeld, who oversaw brands including Chanel, Fendi, and his namesake line.

The rapper has graced the red carpet many times and this year was no different. Cardi B offered two magical looks and both were entirely different from one another. Her timeless black was on point and the pink showcased her curves to the optimum.

Coel slayed as she stepped into a Schiaparelli gown that was covered with over 130,000 crystals and took nearly 3,800 hours to construct. The cream-colored carpet in a shimmery, brown sheer gown featured a mock-neck design, long sleeves, and a dramatic train. She surely looked bewitching.

We loved how Jenna Ortega showcased her iconic character in two sleek black and white ensembles. The goth-inflected avatar was a tribute to many Lagerfeld’s design signatures. The Met Gala 2023 is Jenna’s debut appearance ever since the premiere of her hit Netflix show Wednesday. Ortega has now become a fashion and media darling.

The Oklahoma City Thunder’s star guard showed up wearing an incredible Thom Browne suit that took the internet by storm. The NBA star was dressed in a white grosgrain ribbon tweed skirt and a big cardigan blazer. He solidified his standing as one of the most well-dressed people and celebrities.
Looks We Didn’t Like
Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt’s debut at the Met Gala 2023 was very safe. Her white gown by Prabal Gurung was too plain. The actor was earlier vocal that she is inspired by the iconic “Chanel brides”. Unfortunately, the charm and charisma didn’t translate on the red carpet.
The Kardashian-Jenners
They have ruled the Met in the past but Met Gala 2023 was a major miss for the Kardashian-Jenners. We were disappointed and underwhelmed by their attire this year. It seemed to represent the decline of their dominion because it lacked imagination and originality.
Jennifer Lopez
Met Gala is all about creating drama and that was missing in J-Lo look. She returns to the Met Gala 2023after a hiatus of two years so naturally one expected it to be something grand. Her outfit wasn’t too bad neither impressive.

Lil Nas X and made a bold fashion statement at the Met Gala 2023, arriving in a daring ensemble. The rapper wore a full body crystallized sparkling cat look designed by makeup Phenom Pat McGrath. Lil Nas X is no stranger for his bold sartorial choices, and his Met Gala 2023appearance was a testimony of that. This high octane fashion is actually the crux of Met Gala 2023.
Doja Cat
The American rapper did not disappoint, dressing in a robe with cat ears and donning facial prosthetics to make herself look more feline-like. She accessorized her sparkling silver Oscar de la Renta dress, which had a dramatic ruffled train, with some similarly sparkling jewels.Isn’t it gorgeous?
