Sarfaraz Ahmed is on a roll. After his magnificent knock in the first test series against New Zealand, Ahmed continued his winning streak by scoring a century in the second test. His brilliant innings not only helped Pakistan eke out a draw but also proved to be a befitting reply to the critics.
New Records Set
His most compelling knock came on day five, where Pakistan had their backs against the wall early with New Zealand reducing them to 80/5. The right-hander scored the most runs, 335, by any Pakistan keeper in a Test series having three games or less.

Sarfaraz Ahmed’s Best Hundred
Hailing it as his “best” knock, Sarfaraz described the ton as a special one. “This was a fourth-innings hundred and in the fourth innings, it is not easy to bat anywhere in the world. So I think this is my best hundred,” Sarfaraz was quoted as saying by ICC.
Did you Know?
The former Pakistan skipper had hit three Test centuries in 2014 but hasn`t made another since in nine years. He had returned to the Test XI after three years earlier in the series and walked away with the Player of the Series award.

Kamran Akmal Heaps Praises
Another Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal declared Sarfarz’s performance as ‘incredible’, “It was an incredible comeback. You want to see this kind of return. It was enjoyable for me. He demonstrated intent and demonstrated the significance of an experienced player’s presence. He was the one who hit the century, saved the game, and got us to a winning position.” explained Akmal on his own YouTube channel.
On the contrary Akmal harshly criticized the rest of the team for lacking grit on the final day of the Test. “If he hadn’t played the knock, the game would have ended before tea and you’d be sipping tea in your hotel room, Now, the errors of the captain, the selectors, and the team management will neatly be disguised by Sarfaraz’s knock. Everyone will be talking about his incredible recovery,” he added.
