The Dark Horse Pakistan through to the T20WC semifinals

T20 World Cup 2022

Cricket is unpredictable and so is team Pakistan. Despite a lackluster start in the tournament, Pakistan have made it to the semifinals of the T20 World Cup 2022 against all the odds after Bangladesh in their final Super 12 game in Adelaide.

The Match Highlights

The Roaring Shaheen Shah Afridi

The fast bowler delivered his career best of figures of 4-22 with a five-wicket win over Bangladesh in a do-or-die clash. He was declared man-of-the-match.

ย Babar and Rizwan Open Decent

Babar (25) and Mohammad Rizwan (32) put on 57 for the opening wicket and it looked like they were going to propel Pakistan to an easy victory, until both were removed in quick succession as Bangladesh found a glimmer of hope.

The Netherlands Made Way For Pakistan

The Netherlands’ stunning victory over South Africa earlier in the day left Pakistan’s match against Bangladesh as a virtual quarter-final and the contest between the two Asian sides kept everyone on the edge of their seat right until the gripping climax.

Shoaib Akhtar Leads The Memes Celebrations

Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar could not hide excitement and posted many memes to mock Netherlands and South Africa, as they paved way for Pakistan in the semis.

“What a beautiful moment between the captains of Netherlands & Pakistan. They got us into the semifinals. We ensured their entry into next T20 World Cup,” tweeted Akhtar.

Pakistan and New Zealand will lock horns in the semi-final at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Wednesday, November 9. India will lock horns with England in the second semi-final of the mega event at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday, November 10.
