Ali Junejo and Rasti Farooq

The actors’ decision of wearing twinning grey suits came across as refreshing. We simply loved the intricate embroidery at Rasti’s jacket. The Ajrak motifs at Ali’s stole looked amazing. They even matched up their shoes.

A sneak peek into Joyland

Joyland is the tale of sexual revolution; it shows a patriarchal family yearn for the birth of a baby boy to continue the family line. It is the story of an effeminate married man who falls for a transgender woman, which raises the tension between the conventional image his family wants him to fall into and the freedom he discovers to live a life of his choosing.

A Standing Ovation for Joyland

Final Word

Joyland is a big achievement for Pakistan and a testimony for filmmakers that good content will make its own way.
