A sneak peek into Joyland
Joyland is the tale of sexual revolution; it shows a patriarchal family yearn for the birth of a baby boy to continue the family line. It is the story of an effeminate married man who falls for a transgender woman, which raises the tension between the conventional image his family wants him to fall into and the freedom he discovers to live a life of his choosing.
A Standing Ovation for Joyland
A video from the prestigious event made rounds on social media in which the director Saim Sadiq can be seen gleaming with happiness upon receiving the felicitations for his remarkable craft.
Final Word
Joyland is a big achievement for Pakistan and a testimony for filmmakers that good content will make its own way.
