The Pakistani content is discrete and unique in itself and has got a huge fan base all across the boundaries and so do the talents. While the actors have already ruled the hearts of the Pakistani audience with their acting spectacles, now is the time when their talent and charm are wide spreading all across the globe. The fourth edition of Indus Valley International Film Festival (IVIFF) held at Chandigarh (India) honored Saba Qamar, Mahira Khan and Arif Hassan as best actors and Sarmad Sultan Khoosat as the best director.

What is IVIFF

Under the banner of SAFACH (South Asia Forum for Art & Creative Heritage), the fourth edition of Indus Valley International Film Festival (IVIFF) was held in Chandigarh from September 26 to October 2, 2022. This mega-festival was hosted at the Tagore theatre, with additional venues being Piccadilly Cineplex and Chandigarh Club.

Participants and Jewry

The festival was attended by actor-producer-director Rajit Kapoor, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, writer-actor Saurabh Shukla and many other prominent personalities from the film industry like Rahul Mittra, Anurag Basu, Brahman and Singh, Ketki Pandit, among others. Eminent Nepal actress Swastima Khadka, Bangladesh actress Bobby Haque, Sri Lanka filmmaker Visakesa Chandrasekaram were some of the national and foreign film personalities present.

Grand Film Submission

As many as 1000 films were submitted for screening, of which 50 films were selected for screening from 15 countries, including India, Bhutan, Canada, USA, Denmark, Australia, Italy, Iran, Serbia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

Saba Qamar was declared the Best Actress for Kamli

Mahira Khan won the Best Actress for her short film Prince Charming

Arif Hassan and Sarmad Khoosat bagged Top Honors for the Best Actor and Best Director respectively for Zindagi Tamasha

Summing it up

The festival organizers are overwhelmed with the success of the 4th edition. Therefore they are planning to rope in eminent film personalities and exciting programs again to Chandigarh in October 2023.
