A landmark moment unfolded as Depilex Smileagain Foundation (DSF), in collaboration with L’Oréal Pakistan, celebrated the graduation of the first-ever Beauty for a Better Life (BFBL) cohort in Pakistan. Held at Depilex Karachi, the ceremony marked a transformative milestone in empowering women survivors of domestic abuse and acid attacks, offering them dignity, independence, and renewed hope.
For more than two decades, DSF has been a lifeline for women survivors, helping them rebuild their lives with courage and resilience. Through this partnership with Fondation L’Oréal, 60 women successfully completed a four-month, fully funded training program in hair and beauty aesthetics. The graduates not only gained technical expertise in skincare, haircare, makeup, and salon hygiene but also built confidence, self-esteem, and pathways toward financial independence.
Masarrat Misbah, Founder of Depilex Smileagain Foundation, emphasized:
“Beauty for a Better Life is more than a training program—it is about reigniting hope, restoring dignity, and creating real opportunities for women who deserve a second chance in life. With Fondation L’Oréal’s support, we are enabling women to secure their future with strength and independence.”
The BFBL initiative reflects L’Oréal’s global commitment to using beauty as a force for social change. Since its inception, the program has empowered over 67,000 women worldwide with vocational skills that open doors to employment and entrepreneurship. Pakistan now proudly joins this global movement, with DSF leading its implementation locally.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Rehan Saeed, Executive General Manager of L’Oréal Pakistan, shared:
“At L’Oréal, we strongly believe that beauty has the power to change lives. Today, we are proud to see the first batch of BFBL graduates from Pakistan step into their next chapter with renewed confidence and independence. This milestone is possible only because of our inspiring partner, the Depilex Smileagain Foundation, and its unwavering dedication to women survivors.”
With this inaugural graduation, Pakistan becomes part of a global network of women whose lives are being transformed through the Beauty for a Better Life program, reinforcing the shared vision of DSF and Fondation L’Oréal: creating beauty that restores hope, independence, and dignity.
