Express Entertainment’s miniseries ‘Razia’ starring Mahira Khan, Momal Sheikh, Mohib Mirza and Shaheera Jalil turned out to be a smashing hit. The Mohsin Ali Shah directorial showcased the story of a young girl ‘Razia’ born in a family where patriarchal norms and misogyny are practiced to the optimum. She was mistreated and faced restrictions throughout her life by her father. In the end, she broke the fake societal norms and emerged victorious.
Recently the director took to Instagram to thank the star cast of ‘Razia’ individually.
Mahira Khan
Shah started his acknowledgment of the super star Mahira Khan, who features as the narrator. He wrote, “MK [Mahira Khan], I owe you! It was a great pleasure to work with you. No wonder God gives you all the love, respect, and fame you truly deserve. Your hard work, love, and passion for Razia will always inspire me to improve my work. I cannot imagine any other actor doing what you did; nobody can even come close to it. For me, you are my narrator. Thank you so much for your support and your trust. You asked how it would be done, well, it’s done. May you remain happy and blessed.”
Acknowledging Shah’s note of appreciation, Khan took to her IG Stories to write, “I will always be grateful to have been the Dastaan-goh to your Razia. To many more, InshaAllah, Ameen”
Momal Sheikh
Momal Sheikh, who plays Razia’s mother got special recognition from Shah. He expressed his gratitude, saying, “Momal Sheikh, sarkar, kahan se shuru karna hai? You surprised me with the potential you have to do any character. I am grateful to you for saying yes to Zehra’s character. Not only did I find the best Zehra, but also a person who owned the project with pure intent. Bringing MK on board was a magical move, and all the credit goes to you. It was a fun shoot, and I thank you for everything. And yes, I remember our promise, and there will be loyalty too.”
Shaheera Jalil
Mohsin went all out in praising the young actor Shaheera Jalil, who plays the titular role of Razia. He said, “Shaheera, it took me 10 seconds to decide that you are my Razia, and see where we are now; you are getting all the praise you deserve. You are one of the finest actors I have worked with. Please don’t let this industry ruin you. Work hard, stay humble, and keep your focus on what matters. You will go a long way. Yes! I am proud of you!”
Mohib Mirza
Last, but not least, Mohsin heaped praises for Mohib who plays the patriarch’s father in the mini-series. He expressed, “Mohib Bhai, the day I called you for the first time, I knew in my heart that you would say yes to it. Why? I know the person Mohib Mirza [is]. I know only you have the guts to take this risk. Bhai, you blew me away with the smallest details, gestures, and mannerisms you gave to the character. Thank you for all your on-set suggestions, the way you kept me motivated, your patience in long hours of shoots, and for the signature Mohib Mirza fun. Love you! And once again, thank you.”
