There has been quite a buzz about Amin Iqbal’s directorial Wabaal in the past few weeks. The drama has us hooked ever since the teasers were released and we are super excited to witness the magic of Iqbal back on screen for what promises to be yet another roller coaster ride. We can’t wait to catch up on the first episode. Don’t you feel the same? We at Fashion Times Magazine have listed down 5 reasons why we’re excited to watch Wabaal, that airs from September 3 on HUM TV. Scroll Down
Queen of Hearts
She’s just been awarded Pride of Performance in Norway for her outstanding performances. Actor Sarah Khan guarantees 100% success. Sometimes we wonder how she manages to knock out viewers and critics with every performance. In Wabaal, she is paired opposite Talha Chahour for the very first time. Her smashing introduction in the trailer has us believe that this will be another memorable act as she plays a girl who is tired of conditions of poverty and lives an imaginary life of riches. Already intrigued by her character, we can’t wait to see how Sarah pulls off the dynamics of her role.
Directors Cut
No one can quite bring out the essence of fleshed-out characters like Amin Iqbal. Every project from the ace director is special; Iqbal knows how to juice his characters’ subconscious into an attractively manifested show of slickly designed emotions. He is well versed with the formula of cracking a hit every time, and it would be interesting to see if he can recreate the same magic one more time.
Interesting Mix of Actors
Sometimes a mix of fresh and experienced actors can do wonders. Wabaal is powered by the brilliance of Shagufta Ejaz. We get to see her in a never seen avatar before. On the other hand, we have new bees like Merub Ali, Muhammad Hunbal, and Talha Chahour who with their hatke personalities will hopefully make Wabaal stand out.
The Magic of M.D Productions
Momina Duraid has portrayed a significant role in bringing up meaningful content to flourish the entertainment fraternity in Pakistan. Ranging from empowering narratives for women, sweet romcoms, comic capers, and social issues with strikingly memorable characters breaking archaic stereotypes to calling out patriarchy; HUM TV has left no stone unturned to entertain and educate the viewers. With each project, they take a gigantic leap in terms of good quality content and Wabaal is no different.
The Power of Qasira Hayat
A good script is the soul of any project, and when you have the legendary Qasira Hayat of Alif Allah Aur Insaan and Ishq-e-Laa fame on board, half the job of actors and director is done. It would be interesting to see what different Hayat has in the offering this time around.
These were 5 reasons why we think you should watch Wabaal. Let us know in the comments, what you think of the drama.
