This award, among Pakistan’s top civilian honors, celebrates individuals who have made noteworthy achievements in their areas of expertise, bringing honor to the nation.

Sarmad Khoosat, who was granted the esteemed Sitar-e-Imtiaz award in August 2023 for his significant contributions to the entertainment sector in Pakistan, recently disclosed on his Instagram account that his name has been removed from the distinguished list.
“My name has vanished from the 14 August ’23 list of Presidential Awards that everyone ‘officially’ and unofficially congratulated me for,” posted the actor and director, just days before the awards are to be officially announced on 23 March commemorating top achievements in the country.
