Meesha Shafi’s new single ‘Hot Mango Chutney Sauce’ is bland!

The newly released single by Meesha Shafi ‘Hot Mango Chutney Sauce’ featuring models Eman Suleman, Zara Peerzada, Rubab Ali and Baemisaal, producer Abdullah Siddiqui, Hashim Ali and anonymous content creator Swineryy has left us majorly confused. You know the drill by now, watch the video Hot Mango Chutney Sauce before you read on and while you are at it, please try and focus on the lyrics they are epic.

Okay first things first, this song is the first Meesha song that is remotely bearable. Let’s face it; the music and its tune is catchy though the lyrics are horrible. No rhyming with the words and no sense. No seriously, what the hell is “Jimmy Choo kee chutney chatayee, Teray ansoo mangay umbrellas????? Now, we like the idea of mixing Punjabi with English and Urdu because well, we are all for diversity but this video is so cluttered that we lost track of what the song is actually all about.

No two things in this song have any sort of link between them. From the locations to the costumes it feels like we are watching two shitty videos instead of one. Although, we want to give a special shoutout to the varied sunglasses and weird sense of style. We honestly feel like they had a bunch of sunglasses lying around that were never used.

Okay, we are just going to come out and say this, Meesha and all the models look effin’ hot in this video bursting with a gamut of colors. We liked the Lahore part, especially the truck decorated with mangoes and neon lights. The video is shot in Lahore and Toronto. It is co-directed by Meesha and she gets the credit of art direction too. The glittery outfits and heavy jewels made Meesha look like a goddess. Though we do not understand why she is in a saree while the other models were dressed in western outfits?? We think there might be some sync between the lead and the models. But then again, how do we know?

Finally we just heard the song again for the eight time and it did grow on us. But we would just like to point out the stupidity of the lyrics again. Frankly, a nine-year-old kid could have written these lyrics. Seriously, Meesha Shafi is a well known name of our music industry right now and that alone says so much about our standards and the shit we are willing to listen to.
