On February 6, Lata Mangeshkar, nicknamed “the nightingale of Bollywood”, died at the age of 92. She was hospitalized on January 11 after contracting Covid-19 and died of multiple organ failure at the Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai.

- Lata Mangeshkar’s father was a respected Natya Sangeet musician and Hindustani classical vocalist. She was introduced to music at an early age and she followed in his footsteps. In 1938, she performed “Kshatriya sangeet” and “natyageet” with her father for the first time.
