The trailer dishes the real aspects of the historic Bangladesh liberation war wrapped with a high dose of entertainment. It dwells into the history of souls that were connected beyond borders with a sense of thrill, mystery and intrigue that are essential to the genre. It is evident from the trailer that the movie has good production values and the period detail looks quite impeccable. The editing seems quite edgy and so one can hope that the film will keep us hooked. Debut director Kamran Shahid is a well-known name in the journalism world. For the unversed, no filmmaker in the history of Pakistani cinema has attempted to explore such a genre to date. He hasn’t left any stone unturned in making Huye Tum Ajnabee, a movie to remember.

In an exclusive chat, actor Shamoon Abbasi who plays an important role in the film said, “I play a Bengali Army General of Mukti Bahini (Bangladesh liberation army). The script had me hooked and I was deeply affected by the historical backdrop, it was challenging to get into the skin of the character with the right accent, at the same time portraying it in the most honest way possible.

It took some time for the makers to complete the film, but I was always super excited to reach the sets and enjoyed every bit of my part. As an actor I look for adventures in my roles be they physical or emotional, I want to explore myself as an actor in every possible way.”

Huye Tum Ajnabee will release in cinemas on Eid-ul-Fitr 2023.
