As India secured a big win over Afghanistan in their group clash of ICC Men’s World Cup T20 2021 on Wednesday, some Pakistani fans started a trend on Twitter claiming that the match between India and Afghanistan was Fixed match or not? India posted the highest total of the current edition of the T20 World Cup to ease past Afghanistan in a must-win encounter between both teams.
Batting first, India posted a total of 210/2 after Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul put up a 140-run opening stand after misfiring for the majority of the tournament. Afghanistan fell short of the target by 66 runs.

Pakistani Twitter users said that the match was fixed and Afghanistan deliberately bowled badly and the fielders also dropped a few easy catches to help India win the game.
The Toss Controversy
In a tournament where chasing teams have held a clear advantage, Kohli lost the toss and his team again batted first against a spin-heavy Afghanistan.

Some cricket fans who couldn’t help praising Kohli for his sportsman spirit after Pakistan-India match, accused him of influencing Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi’s decision after the toss.
The hashtag ‘fixed’ was the number one trending topic in Pakistan last night. Have a look
Well paid India!! Oh, sorry, I mean well played*!

Is it just me or does it seem like Afghanistan isn’t too interested in fielding today? Very different attitude from all their previous games.. #INDvsAFG

Spoiling the spirit of the game. This is not the first though. Whaveter they do – their malpractices won’t work – they won’t be able to make it to the next stage as it’s already curtains for them. This attitude leaves sports dead & destroyed. #MysteriousCricket #Surreptitiously

Reacting to the news regarding India vs Afghanistan match being fixed, former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar requested fans not to label the match as pre-decided or fixed.
“Please stop talking about the match being pre-decided or doctored,” he wrote on Twitter, adding that such things leave a bad taste.
Please stop talking about the match being pre-decided or doctored. Such things leave a bad taste. I am backing Afghanistan & India both. Lets see if any one of them pulls off a miracle & goes through.

India, who came in as hot favourites but crashed to two straight losses, needed to win their remaining three games and depend on others for their entry in the semis.
