She stands tall and seems to be a person at ease with herself. She comes across as a no-nonsense girl, unruffled with competition, and believes her career graph is going the way it should be. Hina Javed is growing from strength to strength with exciting projects in the pipeline.
In an exclusive conversation with Fashion Times Magazine, the actress speaks to us about her process of selecting scripts, her acting methods and technique and what dreams she is chasing in 2024.
Excerpts from the one-on-one interview with her.
Fashion Times (FT): I am trying to figure you out and so are a lot of people. You have these very sensual eyes. Your smile is very open and friendly, yet there is something about your personality that’s a bit intricate. How is Hina Javed a person whom people don’t know about?
Hina Javed (HJ): I am a very discreet and introverted person. I don’t like to act like an open book and share my personal feelings with everyone I come across.
(FT): Jia Na Jaye, Zid, Alif Allah Aur Insaan, Sila, Pardes and Meray Paas Tum Ho prove your versatility as an actor. What do you look in a script for?
(HJ): Before choosing a script, I seek the depth and meaning of the character. For me, my character must stand out and contribute to the entire narrative.
(FT): How do you prepare for your roles? Do you follow your instincts or the character’s instincts?
(HJ): I follow the character’s instinct; every character has its own quirks and complex personalities. Therefore it is very important to delve into that certain complexity irrespective of its nature.
(FT): Are you looking for glorious peaks? Or you are happy with consistent success?
(HJ): Consistent success does bring joy but glorious peaks are something I aim to achieve.
(FT): Have you ever been nervous about how you look? Does looks matter?
(HJ): I never felt the need to feel intimidated about how I looked. I feel a certain on-screen look does matter but talent speaks louder than the looks itself.
(FT): What are your interests besides acting?
(HJ): I have a keen interest in sketching, although it is not a developed hobby yet. I consider myself a shopaholic for the love of shopping i.e. collecting clothes, and shoes. Also, I love to travel.
(FT): What dreams are you chasing in 2024?
(HJ): To soar the heights that I desire and be a better person than I was before.
