Way back in 2020 superstar Mahira Khan criticized remarks made by renowned Pakistani scriptwriter, director, and poet Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar towards social activist Marvi Samad during a live show.
Khan was one of the few celebrities who spoke out against the writer when his crude remarks created an absolute stir. The actor, who had previously played the lead in Sadqay Tumhare, a drama penned by Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar had expressed her shock over his behavior on Twitter.
Flashback
I am shocked at what I have just heard and seen!! Sick to the core. This same man who abused a woman on tv is revered and given project after project because of what? We are as much to blame if not more for perpetuating this thinking! #khalilurrehmanqamar

Following Mahira Khan’s tweet the writer on various occasions addressed his grievances and complains. In a show he went on to say:
“She could have called me personally and discussed about whatever she wanted too. If she had done this, then probably I would have responded to her in a good manner” Next, in one of many other instances he screenshotted one of Mahira’s Instagram post about Sadqay Tumharay and further called Khan’s doing a “grave mistake”, suggesting that it cost her big roles. “By doing so, Mahira lost Mere Paas Tum Ho and London Nahi Jaunga as a punishment. Otherwise, she was my first choice for my future ventures. If not Mere Paas Tum Ho, I would have casted her in London Nahi Jaunga,” he stated.
I ll always curse on me for the sin I committed by casting her in a very sacred role in my Sadqay Tumhare pic.twitter.com/vNbNYKWYAb

Back live
Recently, Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar has hinted that Mahira Khan will be starring in his upcoming film, Mirza Jatt, surprising many given their past conflicts and Qamar’s previous statements about not wanting to work with her.
Despite their past differences, it appears they have decided to move forward. In a recent YouTube interview, Qamar announced that Mahira and Humayun Saeed will co-star in a movie written by him, Mirza Jatt. Addressing their previous conflict, Qamar stated, “Yes, there were differences, but now we just have to work.” When asked if he has forgiven Mahira after previously vowing not to, Qamar replied, “That was my stance. I will stick to it.”
What is your opinion on their collaboration? Are you excited about it, or do you think this project should be avoided?
