Islamabad, July 17, 2025 – In a bold and deeply personal revelation, senior journalist and TV anchor Jasmeen Manzoor has come forward with harrowing allegations of domestic abuse at the hands of her former husband. Taking to her social media platform X, Manzoor posted disturbing images of herself with a severely swollen eye, writing:
“This is me. Yes, this is my story—my life destroyed by a violent man. I leave my justice to my Allah.”
The shocking disclosure has stirred a wave of public outrage and support, igniting a broader conversation around domestic violence in Pakistan.
Manzoor claims the abuse took place inside her home during an emotionally vulnerable time—shortly after her mother’s death. She revealed that she possesses over 50 images documenting the abuse and vowed that her silence has ended.
In a follow-up post, she directly condemned those defending her abuser:
“And all those who stood up for a criminal like you… This is me, gifted by my X husband.”
Her brutally honest posts, accompanied by graphic images of physical injuries, underscore the chilling reality that danger often comes from those we trust most.
“This can happen to anyone. No one is safe, even in their own home. The most dangerous people are often the ones we trust blindly,” she warned.
Manzoor admitted she struggled with whether or not to go public, fearing backlash but ultimately choosing to share her truth.
“I’ve wrestled with this for so long. But I had to show the courage to speak out. We must unite against this behavior, and the authorities must open their eyes,” she urged.
Her decision to speak up has drawn widespread praise from journalists, activists, and the public. One supporter posted:
“Kudos to you. Women must stand against violence no matter where it comes from.”
Another wrote:
“You did the right thing by sharing. These monsters don’t deserve protection—they need to be exposed.”
A third commenter summed up the mood:
“If this can happen to a prominent anchor like you, imagine the horror faced by ordinary women.”
As her story continues to dominate social media, Jasmeen Manzoor has become a symbol of resilience and a rallying point for others trapped in silence. Her courage marks a pivotal moment in Pakistan’s fight against gender-based violence.
