Pakistani and Chinese fashion designers came together on Sunday for the first-ever Pakistan-China Fashion Show, held at the iconic Badaling section of the Great Wall of China. The landmark event, jointly organized by the Pakistani Embassy in Beijing and the China International Cultural Communication Centre (CICCC), showcased a vibrant fusion of fashion, heritage, and friendship.
Renowned Pakistani designers Maheen Khan, Moazzam Abbasi, Ayesha Tariq, Rizwanullah, and Zain Hashmi unveiled collections that beautifully merged Pakistani and Chinese aesthetics, featuring floral patterns, ajrak motifs, and cross-cultural craftsmanship. The Chinese lineup included designs by Liang Suyun and jewellery creations by Aqeel Chaudhary, a Pakistan-born entrepreneur based in China.

The show drew attendance from senior Chinese officials, diplomats, business leaders, and media representatives, marking a milestone in cultural diplomacy.
Speaking at the event, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, highlighted the show as a celebration of the “living spirit of the historic Silk Road — a bridge of fabric, art, and friendship.” He noted that the occasion carried extra significance, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of President Ayub Khan’s historic visit to the same section of the Great Wall — the first by any Pakistani leader.
Ambassador Hashmi emphasized that the showcase embodied fusion, creativity, and commercial potential, symbolizing the natural synergy between Pakistan’s fashion innovation and China’s dynamic market, and paving the way for deeper economic collaboration.
CICCC Chairman Long Yuxiang echoed this sentiment, calling the event a testament to the strategic, all-weather partnership between the two nations. He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening ties with Pakistan’s fashion industry and exploring new avenues of cultural and commercial exchange.
