Legendary actor Rashid Naz is no more

Actor Rashid Naz, one of the Industry’s golden era actors, passed away on Monday morning in Islamabad. He was 73.

The actor’s son Hasan Noman stated that โ€˜his father was suffering from severe health issues for quite some time and was medically treated at a hospital in Islamabad.โ€™ The actor’s body was brought to Peshawar for his funeral which was held today (Monday) at an Edgar on Charsadda Road. His funeral was attended by many members of the showbiz fraternity.

Born in Peshawar (1948), Naz started his television career in 1971 with a Pushto television play. He worked in several Pashto, Hindko and the Urdu language plays. His first Urdu play was Aik Tha Gabon (1973). His first popular play was Names. He also worked in Pakistan’s first private television play Dasht, telecast on N T M.

 

In 1988, he worked in his first Pashto film Zama Jang (in Urdu “Meri Jang”). His first Urdu film was Syed Noor’s Dakait. He also worked in Shoaib Mansoor’s film Khuda Ke Liye. Rasheed Naz also worked in Shoaib Mansoor’s video song “Ishq Mohabbat Apna Pan” with Iman Ali. Aside from that, Rasheed Naz also starred in the Bollywood film Baby in 2015 alongside Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, and Madhurima Tuli.

 

 

Actors Gohar Rasheed, Yasir Hussain, Hira Mani, Mawra Hocane, and Omair Rana expressed their grief over the actor’s demise.
