After over two decades in the music industry, Farhan Saeed is stepping into uncharted territory with his first-ever solo album, Khat — a project he describes as “a letter from my heart to yours.”
On Monday, the former Jal frontman unveiled the album with a visually striking campaign featuring art by Umair Fayyaz. Each track is paired with its own sketch or painting, presented like pages from a personal notebook — giving fans a glimpse into the emotional and artistic depth of the project.

Set to release on November 14 under Warner Music and Silent Roar’s global distribution, Khat signifies not just Saeed’s return but a reinvention. The album, spanning 10 tracks in Urdu and Punjabi, promises a nostalgic yet refreshing sound. Four songs — including ‘Khat’, ‘Beparwah’, ‘Phul Ghulab Da’, and ‘Meri Maa’ — are set to receive full-fledged music videos.
Speaking to Variety, Saeed reflected on his journey:
“Music has always been something I’ve lived. I’m blessed that people have always connected with what I sing. This album is for my fans — it’s their love that inspired it. It’s a khat, a letter, from me to them.”
Known for his string of chart-topping singles and TV anthems, the ‘Thori Der’ singer now aims to take his sound global. With Warner Music backing his vision, Khat could mark not just a return — but a controversial rebirth for one of Pakistan’s most beloved voices.
