Ek Hai Nigar: Mahira Khan is ready to soar high as Lt Gen Nigar Johar

Queen Mahira Khan has successfully carved a niche in the industry. She has been winning hearts with her superb performances over the years. The actress who is currently basking with the success of her ongoing drama serial ‘Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay‘ will next be seen as Lt Gen Nigar Johar in upcoming telefilm ‘Ek Hai Nigar’.

Mahira took to social media and surprised her fans by releasing the teaser. She wrote, “Honoured to be able to play a woman I admire so much. Pakistan Army’s first female three-star General. ‘Aik Hai Nigar’ traces the life and career of Lieutenant General Nigar Johar.”

She further added, “What a life, what a story… to know her, is to know one of the greatest we have amongst us.”

For the unversed, “Gen Nigar Johar rose through the ranks of Pakistan Army and continues to have a meritorious service. She overcame personal tragedy and societal pressures to break the glass ceiling for all the women of the country. A tribute to one of the biggest symbols of women empowerment in Pakistan – AIK HAI NIGAR,” states the official YouTube description by the ISPR.

Mahira looks like a breath of fresh air in a Khaki uniform. Interestingly, the telefilm is produced under the banner of Soul Fry Films (Mahira’s production house) and features Bilal Ashraf in a key role. Written by Umera Ahmed and directed by Adnan Sarwar ‘Ek Hai Nigar’ will air on ARY Digital.
