Did Bollywood’s new track “Danger” lift Pakistan’s “Laal Suit”? A quick, careful look

The release of the Bollywood song “Danger” from the upcoming film Param Sundari, starring Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra, has sparked debate across South Asian music circles. Composed by Sachin-Jigar with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, the track dropped on August 21, 2025, and quickly gained traction as a high-energy dance number.

However, Pakistani fans were quick to draw comparisons between “Danger” and the hit OST “Laal Suit” from the 2023 drama Mannat Murad, starring Iqra Aziz and *Talha Chahour. “Laal Suit,” composed and sung by Sarmad Qadeer, became a popular wedding-season anthem shortly after its release. Online discussions highlight similarities in rhythm, dhol-driven beats, and the catchy hook line, with some claiming the Bollywood song borrows too heavily from the Pakistani original.

So far, there has been no official complaint or statement from either side, and the production credits clearly list different composers. Critics point out that Punjabi-inspired beats and celebratory wedding tracks often share overlapping styles, which can blur the line between influence and imitation.

For now, the debate remains fan-driven—reflecting both the popularity of Pakistani drama OSTs and the sensitivity around cross-border artistic borrowing in South Asian entertainment.
