Despite A Female Led Narrative Gohar Rasheed’s Act In ‘Jannat Se Aagay’ Registers Maximum Impact!

Over the years Gohar Rasheed has transformed into a classic performer. His knack for smelling good and versatile scripts has cemented his position in the top league of actors. He has given viewers some really interesting characters to savor like, Mikaeel (Mann Mayal), Azeem (Ishqiya), Ismail (Raaz-e-Ulfat), Asim (Pardes) and Daniyal in (Lapatta). His biggest achievement in all the above is that after a point he makes us forget the actor Gohar Rasheed.

His recent outing ‘Jannat Se Aagay’ narrates the story of Jannat Ali Khan (Kubra Khan) a successful morning show host. She goes all out to fetch good ratings and TRPs. In achieving fame and success she neglects her husband Noman (Gohar Rasheed) and children big time. Tabassum Mughal (Ramsha Khan) is a huge fan of Janant and fortunately lands a job as her children’s maid. ‘Jannat Se Aagay’ explores the dark realities of what happens behind the camera and action and cut. It gives us an insight how common people are misled by the world glitz and glamour.

Even though ‘Jannat Se Aagay’ is a female-led narrative, Gohar Rasheed with his performance leaves maximum impact on viewers. One has seen him in challenging parts before and yet, he handles a complex role in a very nuanced manner without going overboard. He emotes through his expressive eyes; his helplessness and vulnerability fall upon him perfectly.

His arguments and confrontations with Janant arose a certain mystery (we assume) that will be unveiled in the upcoming episodes. Watch him in the scene where he gives Jannat an ultimatum of divorcing her on national TV. There’s no false note in his act, it’s a pleasure to see him in such challenging parts. Here’s hoping he continues his great work as a talent like his is rare.
