Biryani: A Spicy New Drama Serving Wit, Rivalry & Unexpected Chemistry

Pakistani dramas have given us all kinds of flavors, but Biryani is proving to be a refreshing blend of wit, warmth, and unexpected sparks. Starring Ramsha Khan as the fiery Nisa Majeed and Khushhal Khan as the reserved Meer Meran Zaman, the show is already turning heads with its unique storytelling.

Nisa is no ordinary heroine – a BBA 6th semester student, scholarship holder, and research fellow who has clawed her way to success. Raised by a strong single mother (Laila Wasti) and her endearing Mamu Jan (Javed Rizvi), Nisa embodies resilience, ambition, and responsibility.

Meer, on the other hand, represents the opposite world. Born into privilege as the son of a powerful landlord and a major university donor, he has coasted through life with ease. Soft-spoken and almost invisible despite his influential background, he is the last person Nisa wants in her orbit.

But fate – in the form of Sir Shamsi (Shariq Mehmood) – has other plans. Forced to tutor Meer, Nisa sees him as nothing but a burden threatening her precious GPA. With the help of her mischievous Mamu, she hatches elaborate schemes to drive him away – from faking electricity breakdowns to recruiting local goons. Yet, to her dismay, Meer calmly weathers every trick and refuses to quit.

This tug-of-war is not just hilarious, but also layered with social commentary – a collision between hard-earned grit and effortless privilege. And beneath all the banter, there’s a slow simmer of something more that promises to unfold in the episodes ahead.

With its sharp writing, charming performances, and a balance of humor and heart, Biryani is quickly becoming a drama worth savoring. Catch it every Monday and Tuesday at 8:00 PM on ARY Digital – a delicious serving of entertainment you won’t want to miss.
