The Intriguing Premise of ‘Ishq Murshid’
Shibra’s (Dur-e-Fishan Saleem) father Salman (Noor ul Hassan) is a rare human being as he performs his government job with utmost and sincerity. He refuses all the bribery coming his way and neither lends support to people who come to him seeking to take advantage of his post. They are happy living a middle-class life. The parallel track features Shahmeer (Bilal Abbas Khan) a foreign return guy who has grudges with his father as he married for the second time after his mother’s death. In a love-at-first-sight sequence, Shahmeer falls in love with Shibra. Will the huge class difference become a hurdle in their love story?
Farooq Rind: Back In Action
In his last outing, Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay [2021], the execution was a bit shaky. But here, he seems to be in firm control. He succeeds in providing ample gripping moments and the characters instantly register in the minds of viewers. Rind also deserves brownie points for treating various dynamics and relationships. In this regard, the character of Samiya Mumtaz stands out.
The plot has all the ingredients of an intriguing entertainer. Writer Abdul Khaliq Khan peppers the narrative with some awe-inspiring sequences that keep the interest going. Also, he cleverly places humor in the intense premise so, it is of all kinds of viewing. The dialogue is one of the best things in the enterprise.
The Standout Performances of ‘Ishq Murshid’
Ishq Murshid banks heavily on the acting prowess of its lead actors Bilal Abbas Khan and Dur-e-Fishan Saleem. And they deliver class acts respectively. Their characters have substance and operate on authentic logic. The build-up for Bilal and Dur-e-Fishan’s love story is so strong that eventually, you feel and connect with them instantly. Bilal delivers a very entertaining performance. He handles a complex role very well and is sure to get appreciation from all quarters. Dur-e-Fishan is excellent and is growing from strength to strength as an actor. Noor Hassan and Salma Zafar are effective. Omair Rana is excellent as always. Srha Asghar lends able support and leaves a huge mark as a supportive friend.
Is ‘Ishq Murshid’ Worth Watching?
On the whole, Ishq Murshid has a very interesting story to tell and manages well to create the desired impact. Five episodes down, the drama serial deserves to be watched for its unique plot, realistic setting and stellar acts by Bilal and Dur-e-Fishan.
