We all know what a brilliant actress Ayesha Omar is. Well, not just an actor, she has also proved her singing excellence time and again with some beautifully sung songs. Omar’s music albums ‘Chalte Chalte’, ‘Khamoshi’ and ‘Gimme Gimme’ are still fresh in our minds. When a melodious singer like her decides to recreate Muhammad Ali Sheiky and Allan Fakeer’s iconic song ‘Tere Ishq Mein’, fans are surely in for a treat.
The Habs actor dropped the song on YouTube accompanied by a music video.
Ayesha further elaborated on how the experience is special for her. She wrote, “Libra Jam begins today and to celebrate the first day of this magical cycle, I bring to you something that is very, very close to my heart. What started out as an impromptu jam at the Commune Artist Colony with YBQ Design Studios and the supremely talented JamBro’z Official became a beautiful bonding experience for us and we decided to record it casually in Saad Hayat ’s studio just because we love the song so much.”
Omar decoded the main reason why this song means so much to her. While growing up and listening to it, her family and friends also started to connect with it. “I used to sing this everywhere and with everyone, and later started singing it in interviews randomly when I used to be asked to hum a tune. My friends would request me to sing it when we would randomly do singalongs and it still remains my favourite track to listen to in the car,” she continued.
The Bulbulay actor made it clear that her version of ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ is just a ‘humble tribute’ to the song itself. “No one can ever perform it better than the original singers, Muhammad Ali Sheiky and Allan Fakeer, and later Bayaan. To all the singers who have sung it over the years, to the composer and lyricist, and above ALL: our Creator. For me, this is food for my soul because I am always trying to feed good things to myself.”
In concluding the post, she dedicated the song, Mahira Khan and Asfar Hussain. Also, she gave a special shout-out to musician Lenny Massey who convinced her to start signing again. “We be doing BIG things together, InshaAllah.”
