Most would agree that the most important part of a mystery is to make the viewer’s invest in the characters and bring them to the edge of their seats by the time the big reveal unravels. Green Entertainment’s ‘Gumn’ starts on an intriguing note with unpredictable twists and turns cloaked under the dark shadows of a thriller. There are moments in abundance that promise a delicious ode to murder mysteries and ‘Gumn’ succeeds in what it intends to achieve.
‘Gumn’ The Story So Far
The basic plotline of ‘Gumn’ revolves around Maya Malik (Tooba Siddique) a top lawyer in the country who has a reputation for going all out in seeking justice for her clients. She has a soft corner, especially for the suppressed women of society. Maya’s life takes an unexpected turn when she mistakenly hits a young man Rayyan (Feroze Qadir) with her car.
The Writers Triumph
Tooba Siddiqui and Hamza Qazi’s story is promising and makes for a fantastic whodunit. The characters are well defined and their hidden motives also are nicely thought of. The writing has a certain novelty and the developments are exceptional keeping viewers hooked.
The Ever Reliable Sarmad Khoosat
Sarmad Khoosat’s direction is up to the mark. He has a great premise in hand and does justice to the promising script. An enterprise like this should keep viewers invested and make them guess who can be the killer. So far, ‘Gumn’ becomes more exciting as the episodes unfold.
The Strong Protagonist
Tooba’s honest performance fills Maya with lots of substance. She is in a different league and she is in top form, as expected. There isn’t a single false note in her act. Feroz Kadir too, gives his best and adds a lot to the play with his presence. Sohail Sameer is great as the irritating cop. Zara Tareen is decent. Srha Asghar is dependable. Veteran Muhammad Ahmed is great playing the father.
We Want More
Five episodes down ‘Gumn’ continues to impress. We are curious to know about the real culprit and can’t wait to witness the suspense unfold in the upcoming episodes.
