Pakistan Marks 78 Years of Independence: Stars Share Love, Pride & Powerful Messages

Today, Pakistan celebrates 78 years of independence — a day of pride, reflection, and hope for the future.

While August 14 has always been a time for patriotic tributes, this year’s messages from celebrities went beyond the green-and-white posts. Many paired their Independence Day wishes with calls for responsibility, equality, and meaningful change.

Model Zhalay Sarhadi wished for “prosperity for our country and our countrymen and women,” reminding followers that independence should come with “responsibility, humility, basic civic duty, ethics, and morality.” Her heartfelt prayer included a call for the enforcement of laws, protection of animal rights, and a safer, nonjudgmental environment for women.

Malala Yousafzai took a playful approach, sharing a photoshopped picture of herself batting alongside her husband, captioning it simply, “Happy Independence Day!”

Cricketer Shaheen Afridi struck a poetic note:

“I carry my nation in my heart and its flag in my soul… Pakistan is our pride, our power, our eternal flame. May we protect it, honour it, and raise its flag higher every day.”

Actor Ramsha Khan admitted the fireworks startled her but still added a spirited “Pakistan Zindabad!” Meanwhile, Mawra Hocane lit up her window with green fairy lights, wishing her “beautiful country” a happy Independence Day.

Veteran actor Hina Khwaja Bayat shared one of the most reflective messages of the day, reminding fans that Pakistan’s creation was “not just a fight for freedom, but a jihad” — a battle against both oppression and the self. She urged everyone to “do the right thing, refuse to aid injustice, and take our country forward.”

Actor Muneeb Butt posted a rooftop fireworks video, dedicating the celebration to Pakistan’s soldiers and the nation’s military achievements earlier this year. His wife Aiman Khan kept it short but heartfelt with a family photo captioned, “Long live Pakistan.”

Actor Ahsan Mohsin Ikram used his platform to address aerial firing, sharing a report about a child’s death and 95 injuries in Karachi from the dangerous practice. He appealed, “Please don’t support or be a part of any activity that involves aerial firing. It kills innocent people every year.”

From playful tributes to powerful calls for change, Pakistan’s stars reminded the nation that Independence Day is about more than celebration — it’s about responsibility, unity, and building a better tomorrow.
