Pakistani actress Alizeh Shah has finally addressed the swirling rumors claiming that Nazeeha Zainab, the breakout star of Jama Taqseem, is her younger sister — and she isn’t holding back.
Fans started speculating after noticing a striking resemblance between the two actresses, especially following Nazeeha’s intense portrayal of Sidra in the hit drama. But Alizeh was quick to shut down the gossip, taking to Instagram to set the record straight.
“I don’t have a sister,” Alizeh wrote with her trademark humor. “My family knew they could only handle one Alizeh — I’m the only girl!”
While keeping things light, the Ehd-e-Wafa star also voiced her irritation over constant comparisons between emerging and established actors.
“People need to stop comparing newcomers who are working hard to build their own identity,” she said, adding that she faced the same frustrations early in her career.
The actress didn’t mince words when addressing the so-called “new Alizeh Shah” labels either.
“If you dislike me that much, then why do I keep hearing there’s a ‘new Alizeh Shah’ in town? What’s with this obsession? Get over me,” she said, calling out the industry’s fixation with look-alikes.
As for critics pointing out her changing looks, Alizeh chalked it up to self-care and emotional well-being.
“Maybe I look different because I’m finally happy. When I was overworked, it showed on my face,” she explained, reiterating that she’s never had cosmetic surgery. “Take care of yourself properly and you won’t feel the need for it.”
Meanwhile, Nazeeha Zainab, whose powerful performance continues to draw praise, described her Jama Taqseem role as “the voice of every girl facing harassment.”
“To those silenced by fear or ignored by elders — don’t hide your pain. Speak up and trust your parents,” Nazeeha urged in an emotional statement.
With both actresses commanding attention — one for her rising fame and the other for her candor — fans seem to agree on one thing: there’s room for both Alizeh and Nazeeha to shine.
