China to Screen Pakistani Animated Film ‘The Donkey King’ on November 19

Director Aziz Jandani’s computer animated comedy film The Donkey King will release in the Chinese market on November 19, 2021. The film narrated a rare tale of a donkey Mangu who becomes a king by luck and chance.

The mastermind behind The Donkey King Jindani commented, “We are ecstatic to see our film receive global appreciation across countries. The theatrical release in China is the final frontier in this journey. We hope that this unlocks door for release of more Pakistani films in China in future.”

Produced under the banner of Geo Films and Talisman Studios’ the film released on 13th, October 2018 in Pakistan was a mega success and became the first Pakistani film to be dubbed into ten languages for multiple international theatrical releases, distributed worldwide by Annalisa Zanierato, for Pantera Film.

The Donkey King released in theatres in over 10 countries. That icludes Spain, South Korea, Russia, Greece, Turkey, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Taiwan. The original release in Pakistan featured the voices of Jan Rambo, Ismail Tara, Hina Dilpazeer, Ghulam Mohiuddin and Jawed Sheikh, and grossed Rs. 247.5 million at the local box office over a 25-week lifetime.
