Legendary fast bowler Waqar Younis strongly believes that Pakistan can defeat India in the much-awaited T20 World Cup . The clash of the arch rivals will take place on October 24 in Dubai. The group of Pakistan also features Afghanistan and New Zealand as the other two automatic qualifiers.
In a video interview to CricWick, Waqar said, “I truly have faith that Pakistan can beat India in the opening encounter if the team utilizes its potential to the fullest. It’s an uphill task but we certainly have the personnel who can come good.”
He further said, “It’s a big match T20 World Cup with huge pressure on both teams, the initial few overs will be crucial. If Pakistan negotiates well, we can win the game.”
Waqar, who stepped down recently as national team’s bowling coach, lauded Hasan Ali for being the best from the lot. He said, “Bowling has been our forte, in the past we’ve had the strength to defend scores. I think Hasan understands bowling better than any other bowler in the current lot and will be our leader in terms of bowling. He certainly has the skill and character to do big things on the biggest stage.”
