Ace Pakistani fashion designer Mohsin Naveed Ranjha along with entrepreneur Malik Asad have made a historic achievement by becoming the inaugural South Asian couturiers to set up a specialized design studio on the esteemed Regent Street in London. Their MNR studio seeks to redefine the concepts of luxury and sophistication through an extensive collection of designer apparel catering to both men and women.
In an exclusive conversation, Ranjha said, “We’ve poured our hearts and souls into creating a brand that celebrates South Asian heritage with a contemporary twist. To see it resonate on this international platform is incredibly humbling.” He added, “The launch was all that we dreamt of and more. To have London turn up in huge numbers, to have the brilliant actor Sonam Bajwa fly in for us. We could not be more grateful.”
The sultry Bollywood diva has been an admirer of Mohsin’s work for quite some time. “I have worn his outfits at some of my events, his vision for design and craftsmanship is exemplary. Mohsin’s journey is so much more than fashion, it’s a representation of culture and community that inspires and uplifts. His presence in London symbolizes the global recognition of South Asian creativity and fashion”
Abubakar Naveed Ranjha, serving as the Managing Director of the company, elaborated on his brother’s feelings. “This wouldn’t have been possible without a tremendous team effort,” he emphasized. “The strategic guidance of Asad Malik and the support of fashion accelerator Cresset were instrumental in making this dream a reality.”
He also shared, “At MNR, we have so many plans for global expansion. We believe there is still so much for the world to see in South Asian fashion. With the London store, we are only just getting started.”
As the conversation drew to a close, the shared passion and commitment emanating from Mohsin, Abubakar, and Asad were unmistakable. The establishment of the MNR Design Studio serves as evidence of their vision, representing a notable achievement not only for the brand but also for the elevation of South Asian fashion on the global platform.
