The wait is over. The first look poster of Humayun Saeed’s international venture ‘The Crown’ Season 5 is finally out. The popular web series release date has been announced as November 9, 2022, which is exactly 45 days away from the poster release.
The Announcement
Humayun Saeed shared the poster on Twitter and confirmed being part of the show. Syra Yousuf, Sajal Aly, Aijaz Aslam, Frieha Altaf and many more celebrities showered a bunch of emojis on his post.

The royal drama’s official account took to Twitter to share that the series will debut in early November, two months after the Queen’s death. The fifth installment is believed to cover the family throughout the 1990s.

Humayun Saeed as Dr Hasnat Khan
In the upcoming season, Humayun Saeed will be seen as Dr Hasnat Khan, a British-Pakistani heart and lung surgeon having a two-year-long secret affair with Princess Diana. The ‘People’s Princess’ is said to have described Khan as ‘Mr Wonderful’ and in May 1996, she visited his family in Lahore too. Diana’s friends are reported to have described Hasnat as the “love of her life” and to have spoken of her distress when he ended their relationship in June 1997. Dr Hasnat attended Diana’s funeral ceremony as well.

Other cast newcomers include Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret and Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip. Imelda Staunton becomes the latest in a succession of actors who have played Elizabeth through the decades of her life and reign. The first two seasons starred Claire Foy as the young princess Elizabeth ascending to the throne and growing into her role as queen. Seasons three and four featured Olivia Colman as a more mature queen. The show has won 22 Emmy Awards, including the best drama series trophy and top drama actress honors for Foy and Colman. Josh O’Connor, who played Prince Charles as a young man in 13 episodes, won the best drama actor Emmy.
