Fashion Times Exclusive: Amin Iqbal dishes details on upcoming drama ‘Wabaal’

We don’t need any introduction for the man who is known for directing a string of successful dramas such as Dil Muhallay Ki Haveli, Mannat, Dushman-e-Jaanand Deedan. Yes, you are right we are talking about the director and writer Amin Iqbal. The best thing about him is the manic passion with which he approaches his job. His contemporary style of work not only delivers a powerful message but most importantly entertains the audience.

After the success of his recent outing Ishq-e-Laa, we were curious to know what next he brings to the table for us. And Guess what? Iqbal’s next drama serial is titled Wabaal’ for HUM TV. Wabaal has been written by Qaiser Hayat and produced by Momina Duraid. The cast includes Sarah Khan, Merub Ali, Talha Chahour, Shagufta Ejaz, Saleem Sheikh, and others.

Divulging details about the plot, Amin said,“Wabaal (calamity) revolves around the actions of men that eventually make the life of others a Wabaal. As a director, I always seek an opportunity to narrate a different story that has a message and solutions to make life easier. And I got this in the script written by Qaisera Hayat.”

Iqbal also highlighted the two main reasons why he signed up for this project, “Firstly, the script and the secondly the cast made be take up Wabaal. I feel when you collaborate with actors you haven’t worked with before creates a special journey that not only makes it exciting, but you get to learn something from them as well.”

 He concluded, “On the contrary, the actor also need to take up the role as a challenge and perform it effortlessly. Once they surrender themselves and trust the director, then I believe everything is good to go.”
