With more than forty episodes being aired already Ahsan Khan’s blockbuster drama serial ‘Qayamat’ is unstoppable amongst the viewers and TRP calculators. Khan who has been receiving plaudits for his portrayal as ‘Rashid’ is overjoyed.
In an exclusive conversation with Fashion Times Magazine, he said: “Qayamat has been a fulfilling experience. I am happy to receive such an overwhelming response. Fans have been tagging me Tiktoks emulating the postures and gestures of my character ‘Rashid’. When I was offered this role, I was excited as it had various dimensions to it. I had to undergo physical transformation to look the part. I had to gain around seven to eight kgs of weight. Once we were done with the shoot; I had to quickly get back in shape as I had to start shooting for my next feature film. It took some time to shed those extra kilos, but I am happy that all my hard work paid off.”
Ahsan revealed that he didn’t wanted to get typecast in a negative role after Udaari: “I did Udaari in 2016, I believe ‘Qayamat’ was the right project for me to play a grey character again. Such roles give an actor a lot of margin to perform. At this stage of my career, I am open to experiment to showcase my versatility.”
The past few years have been great in Ahsan’s career both critically and commercially. With consecutive successes – ‘Aangan’ (2018), ‘Alif’ and ‘Sharukh Ki Saliyan’ (2019), ‘Bandhay Aik Dor Se’ and ‘Qayamat’ (2019-2020) he has emerged as one of the successful actors of the industry. The mega success of ‘Qayamat’ further proves his star power.
Meanwhile, Khan also plays the lead role in Yasir Nawaz next feature film ‘Chakkar’: “Chakkar is produced by Nida Yasir, it’s a new genre for all of us. Neelam Muneer is paired opposite me. It has been a fulfilling experience shooting for it. I hope the audience will find it refreshing too.”
