Actor Ayesha Omar is undeniably in the best phase of her career. She is having a great time at the movies as her recent films Money Back Guarantee and Huey Tum Ajanabi have emerged as major successes. Not just the films continue to draw audience to the theatres but have been widely praised by the critics as well. Omar who is busy soaking in the adulation makes a big announcement about her next feature film.
Ayesha teams up yet again with director Abu Aleeha for ‘Taxali’. The film is written and directed by the latter and has been shot at the Walled City of Lahore. The film highlights an intense issue and is touted to be a thought-provoking experience for cinemagoers.
Speaking about the film, Ayesha Omar said, “I am thrilled to be part of ‘Taxali’ and to work with Abu Aleeha, who is a talented filmmaker. I am excited to take on this challenging role and bring this story to life on the big screen. We wanted to keep it completely under wraps until we had shot major chunks of the film.”
Interestingly the cast of ‘Taxali’ has wrapped up shooting and is figuring out a release date. The movie is expected to have a theatrical release in Pakistan as well as being sent to major festivals worldwide.
For the unversed Ayesha has earlier worked with Abu Aleeha in Javed Iqbal now renamed as (Kukri). The film is based on the life of serial killer Javed Iqbal who confessed to the sexual abuse and murder of 100 young boys, ranging in age from 6 to 16. Omar essays the role of a fierce cop who investigates the case. The movie was earlier banned by the censor board of Pakistan. But after some minor cuts and title change, Kukri is all set to release in Pakistan on May 19.
